We have successfully completed the first full week of school! Everything has gone well and we have adjusted procedures that have needed a few tweaks. It has been nice seeing all of the students back in school and welcoming all of the new students! We've seen a lot of learning and classroom community building activities this week. Hopefully you have connected with your teachers preferred method of communication and have seen all they have been sharing. If you haven't connected with your students teacher, please contact the front office and we can direct you to your students teacher. We are excited to get this school year going. Here is to a fun and successful year!

Fourth grade student, Olivia, was the lucky guesser for Mrs. Miller's guessing contest. Mrs. Miller set up a jar of "Book Worms" during meet the teacher night. Olivia had the closest guess and was the winner of this wonderful jar full of book worms! Way to go!

The car rider drop off and dismissal procedures have consistently improved each day we are at school. This is our busiest time of the day for students and staff. We ask that you stay in your car in order for the line to move as quickly and safely as possible. All cars should have received a car rider tag by this time of the school year. If you are needing a tag, please contact the front office so we can get a tag for you.

If families have a prearranged meeting with staff in the mornings, they should check in at the front office before proceeding to their meeting.

Calling all fathers, father-Figures, grandpas, uncles, step-dads and adult brothers-come join us on August 29th from 7:45 AM-8:45 AM for our first annual Donuts with Grown Ups!

We will be promoting our new W.A.T.C.H.D.O.G.S program which is aimed at encouraging positive male role models to spend at least a day or more volunteering in our school.

Flyers will be sent home this week. Please RSVP by August 26th. Hope to see you there!

Each month at LAE we have attendance challenges to encourage students to have responsible attendance. Our first challenge is going to be to Soak the Principal! If students achieve a 90% attendance rate for the month of August, EVERY student in the school will get to throw a wet sponge at Mr. D! Help us motivate your students to have good attendance in sharing this challenge with them. Weekly updates will be provided!
