Third week of school...accomplished! September is a jam packed month full of activities. We will be celebrating our grandparents on September 4th with cookies, milk and coloring sheets in our cafeteria after school. Our students have been working hard the first month of school to master their procedures and get into the swing of being back at school, or at school for the first time. This week our 3rd-5th grade students have been conducting their beginning of the year assessments. Thank you to all our parents and guardians of LAE for connecting to our ClassDojo! As of today, we have 94% of our families connected on ClassDojo! Hopefully you have enjoyed the app and found it easy to communicate with staff and see all the great things students do at LAE!

Our top 5 ClassDojo point earners for last week got to shop in our Dojo store for a prize! Congratulations to our top point earners Mason, September, Joscelyn, Greyson and Nevaeh!

Students can earn ClassDojo points from any adult in the building. Our schoolwide Dojo points revolve around our Little Axe Citizenship Commitments: we are safe, we are respectful, we are responsible and we are ready to learn. As a parent/guardian on ClassDojo you can check your students points and see how many they have earned!

Looking for something fun to do this Saturday? Come out and volunteer with our garden club!

We love celebrating students who go above and beyond and get caught doing something extraordinary. Fourth grade student, Heidi, spent Dojo points to eat with a friend. She noticed another student who was eating by themselves, so she told her teacher she wanted to redeem 10 more points to include the other student. Her act of kindness was rewarded with 10 extra Dojo points and a positive office referral. Way to go Heidi!

We are having our annual Goodies with Grands celebration on September 4th after school. Come out and have cookies and milk with your grandkids! We will also have coloring sheets for you to complete with your student.

September Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for September 11th and September 18th. Conferences will be held from 4:30 to 7:30. Your students teacher will be sending home sign up sheets or using ClassDojo for their conferences. We look forward to having you out and hearing about all the great things your student is doing!
