Principal's Message

November:

Dear Little Axe Middle School Families,

As we enter the fourth month of the school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible progress we’ve made together. November is not only a time for cooler weather and changing leaves but also a period of growth and learning in our classrooms.

A Few Important Reminders:

Start Time: Our school day starts promptly at 7:50 AM. Please make sure your child arrives on time, ready to learn and engage in the day’s activities.

Stay Connected: Keep up with important updates through our communication channels, including the newsletter, push notifications/Sylogist app, and social media.

Upcoming Events: Mark your calendars for upcoming events, Daylight Savings ends November 2nd; Thanksgiving Break is November 24-28/

November Focus: Gratitude & Giving Back

We will focus on building a spirit of kindness and gratitude throughout our school. Our students have been showing incredible dedication in their studies and extracurricular activities, and I am proud of the hard work they’ve put in so far this year. In addition, we're proud of each Advocacy class as they will be gathering food items as a part of our annual "Food Drive" in the fall during October and November!

As always, communication between home and school is key to our students’ success. If you haven’t already, please take a moment to check in with your child about their classes and see how you can support their learning at home.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we are making this a fantastic year for our students. If you have any questions or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Respectfully,

Mike Bread, Principal

Tip of the Month

Daily or Weekly Gratitude Practice:

• Write Gratitude Notes: Encourage each family member to write something they are thankful for on a sticky note or piece of paper. They can do this daily or weekly, depending on what works best for your family.

• Be Specific: Encourage specificity in the gratitude notes. Instead of general statements like "I'm thankful for my family," try to write specific things like "I'm thankful for the fun movie night we had together."

• Share and Discuss: Set aside time to read the notes aloud and discuss them. This can be a part of your family dinner or a weekly family meeting.
