As we transition into September, we're excited to share this month's edition of "The LAMS Ledger." Our focus for this month is Reading & Literacy. It's a wonderful time to dive into the world of books and develop a lifelong love for reading.

A Few Important Reminders:

Start Time: Our school day starts promptly at 7:50 AM. Please make sure your child arrives on time, ready to learn and engage in the day’s activities.

Stay Connected: Keep up with important updates through our communication channels, including the newsletter, push notifications/Syslogist app, and social media.

Upcoming Events: Mark your calendars for exciting upcoming events, such as Student-Led Conferences on September 11th and Parent/Teacher Conferences September 18th. Don’t miss Picture Day September 16th!

Reading opens up a world of knowledge, imagination, and adventure. Whether it’s reading for pleasure or to expand our understanding, every book is a new journey. We encourage you to explore our library resources and participate in our Accelerated Reading Program.

Highlight: Tips for Reading & Literacy

• Choose a Quiet Location: Find a quiet and comfortable spot in your home that is free from distractions. This could be a corner of a living room, a section of a bedroom, or even a nook under the stairs.

• Add Comfortable Seating: Use a cozy chair, bean bag, or floor cushions to create a comfortable place to sit. The key is to make it inviting and relaxing.

• Provide Good Lighting: Ensure there is adequate lighting in the reading corner. Natural light is best, but you can also use a good-quality reading lamp or fairy lights to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
